Shannon Marie Schacht is a professional wildlife and pet portrait artist. Originally from Maine, Shannon now resides in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming where her creativity is inspired daily by the natural surroundings. Shannon's wildlife portraits are a unique combination of contemporary and traditional styles resulting in dramatic, yet intimate compositions. Shannon's artwork reflects her deep connection with animals, and she works hard at bringing these visions to life with each brush stroke.
Shannon has been drawing ever since she picked up her first pencil as a child, and was instantly fascinated with using charcoal pencils to sketch wildlife. As a self-taught artist, she takes pride in learning her own techniques through trial & error, along with lots of motivation, patience and practice. Her love and appreciation for all animals has progressed over the years along with her artwork. She pays close attention to even the smallest details that go into each piece. Now Shannon's main focus is using acrylic paints to create beautiful, bold and contemporary wildlife portraits. Her collection of work can be seen at The Grand, Fine Art Gallery in Jackson, Wyoming. Shannon has happily donated some of her paintings and pet portraits to local charities for the Jackson community such as the annual St. Johns Hospital Spring Fling, Tuxes & Tails Gala, Animal Adoption Center fundraiser, WhoDunnit, CES Fundraiser and many more. When Shannon isn't working hard in her studio, she is out exploring the outdoors and all that the mountains have to offer.
"Animals, art, nature, and being creative are my passions in life. I love combining these elements to create unique and fun pieces for all to enjoy. My hope is to show this passion & love through my work so that others can appreciate it and feel inspired."
